I love zoos!
So Zoo Tycoon is the game for me!
Basically you run your own zoo. That means building the enclosures, picking the animals, feeding them – even clearing up their poo.
You also get to put in other attractions such as shops and restaurants in order to make money to build more stuff, which means more people want to come to your zoo.
The game is quite easy to understand. If you want, you can play it properly and complete different challenges, while making sure you don’t run out of money. But I prefer to play it in easy mode, where you get unlimited money. That way, I can concentrate on looking after all my animals, walking around the zoo and interacting with them. You can even drive a little buggy around!
What I love most about this game is the amount of animals – there’s loads of different species and they behave very realistically. Some of them are really endangered, and you can breed more to increase their numbers.

Parents’ perspective
Zoo Tycoon by Xbox Game Studios is a management game that feels very much aimed at Lucy’s age-range. It’s controls and gameplay are very simple, The ‘unlimited’ mode means she can go about designing her dream zoo without having to worry about going bust and ‘losing’ the game. This game is on Xbox Game Pass (£10.99 a month).
